Hope for the Holy Land: An Arab Palestinian Christian Speaks Out

Andrew Urquhart is joined by theologian Dr Yousef Al-Khoury, an Arab Palestinian Christian originally from Gaza who now lectures in theology and Biblical Studies in Bethlehem. Dr Al-Khoury shares a rarely heard perspective on the ongoing conflict in the Holy Land, tracing his community's 800-year Christian heritage and speaking candidly about the pressures of Islamist extremism and Israeli settler violence. He challenges listeners to consider how scripture has been used to justify oppression, and points to Jesus's own experience of occupation as a model of peaceful resistance rather than nationalism or violence.
