Be Kind Featured
They're two words we've heard a lot over the past few weeks.
Be Kind, we first heard it from Jacinda Ardern just before level 4 was announced, then advertisers and supermarkets adopted it as well. It's the perfect message for this time.
So what is kindness? Being nice? Caring? Friendly?
Well, yes, all of the above.
It always worth checking a dictionary right?
Kind: having or showing a friendly, generous, and considerate nature.
Sounds like a great trait.
It's also a fruit of the spirit, so it's obviously important to God.
Colossians 3:12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;
Kind words have a major impact on our lives. They comfort us, encourage us, inspire us, guide us, etc. Kind words spoken at the right time affect people. They give us hope. They motivate us. So does showing kindness through an act. It can make all the difference to offer help, to tell a friend you're praying for them (and actually do it).
Showing kindness can make all the difference to someone who's having a rough day. We all need a little help sometimes. None of us is meant to go through life alone. Being kind might be as simple as having a conversation with someone or lending emotional support to a friend who is going through a tough time.
Many of us underestimate how a moment of kindness can change not just someone's day but even their someone’s life. Kindness can melt even the hardest of hearts!
Be Kind, two small words that can have a massive impact.
