The Enemies We Face Pt. 6
Derek Prince continues his teaching on Satan's kingdom, explaining that witchcraft is the common religion of fallen humanity—countless rituals and ceremonies, often sensual or cruel, through which people seek contact with satanic spiritual beings. He gives examples such as American Indian ceremonies, the universal figure of the witch doctor in primitive societies, and Simon the sorcerer in Samaria (Acts 8), showing how witchcraft dominates societies that have not come under God's rule.
Drawing on 1 Samuel 15:23, where Samuel tells King Saul "rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry," Prince establishes that rebellion against God's authority is the root from which witchcraft grows, since rejected legitimate authority is inevitably replaced by illegitimate authority backed by illegitimate spiritual power. He illustrates this with Saul's own later resort to a witch, and with the 1960s rebellious generation who largely turned to the occult, concluding that true deliverance from witchcraft must address its underlying root: rebellion.
