A new bilingual publication is bringing 19th century stories of faith and te reo Māori to life, drawing on journals, newspapers and early writings from Aotearoa's history. Andrew Urquhart talks with Te Karere Scarborough about the three-year journey behind this partnership project, why a Māori author was brought on board to respond to the original English texts, and what it means to look past modern assumptions and hear directly from the people who lived through this history.
