Kat talks with Auckland author, pastoral caregiver and theology student Loyola van Rooyen Buck  about her new novel, Lion's Vineyard, which explores New Zealand's bicultural history through rugby, family and faith. Loyola explains the title draws on Christ as the Lion of Judah and the Church as His vineyard, inspired by her time on a bicultural ministry team in Whangarei and the historic first Christmas service at Paihia.

Loyola, originally from First Nations land in Canada, shares how her own understanding of colonialism shaped her passion for exploring reconciliation, healing and forgiveness between Māori and Pākehā. She and Kat discuss the Christian call to repentance and humility, likening the gospel's invitation to a table where everyone has a place. Listeners can find the book at lionsvineyard.com.
