Bonhoeffer Film Asks: Faith Or Flag?

Host Andrew Urquhart and producer Laura chat ahead of Saturday's election, joking about voting with toddlers in tow before turning to Friday night's Shine Television screening of Bonhoeffer, a dramatised account of German pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer's resistance to Hitler's Nazi regime.

They reflect on how the film, produced by Angel Studios, shows a church swept up in nationalist fervour and a pastor who paid a heavy price for preaching truth against an ungodly government, even weighing involvement in a plot to assassinate Hitler. Andrew suggests the story raises searching questions for Kiwi Christians about faith, democracy, and what it would cost to stand against an unjust government, encouraging viewers to watch Friday at 7pm or catch up via Shine On Demand ([www.shinetv.co.nz](https://www.shinetv.co.nz)) before heading to the polls.
